Tank Sub

The third part is the Oil tank, which is used as a reservoir for the oil in case of leaky seals. Thread connection on this sub is standard DI22 8 1/4". Length is 1,5 meter and the weight is 430 kg.

Pulser-Generator Sub

This part contains the Generator, Turbine, Hydraulic pump and the mud pulser. The generator is driven by a mud turbine which generates necessary power supply for the electronic and sensors. The hydraulic pump provides pressure for the complete hydraulic system. Thread connection on this sub is standard DI22 8 1/4". Length is 1,5 meter and the weight is 430 kg.

Steering Sub

This is the first part of the RVDS tool and this is connected to the tricone pilot bit via a 6 5/8" API thread in the bottom end. It has a drive shaft and a non rotating sleeve. Four hydraulic extendible ribs are on the non rotating sleeve for steering the tool. This part is also the housing for the electronic, sensors and hydraulic valves. Total length of this part is 1,6 meter and the weight of this piece is 480 kg. Maximum applied horizontal side force to steer the tool is 1600 kg.
