About Electro

Our heritage

The Electro Division was born in the late 1920's as an auxiliary department to what was to be 'Bolidens Gruvaktiebolag', i.e. what is now known as Boliden AB. However, in 1996 all auxiliary departments were sold out and since then the former electrical departments have been spearheading a conglomerate supporting heavy industries in the north of Sweden.

That is until quite recently. In june 2010, Bergteamet AB aquired all shares in the company controlling Electro and has since then merged our business into its own organisation as a fresh division. So, once started as an auxiliary department to the company exploiting the richest goldmine in Europe, we are now a proud part of the last decade's most expansive underground contractor in Scandinavia. It feels as if we're finally back home again.

An unbeaten track record

We've been around since electricity was a novelty in this part of the world and not far from our premises you'll find one of the oldest hydro power plants in the country.

Obviously the technology has changed around us and so have we, but we like to think that history counts for something. Considering that we to some extent have delivered products, material and services to every operative mine in Sweden irrespective of owner, we are confident to say that we have an unbeaten track record when it comes to electricity and underground activities.
